About a month ago, I pulled a lift kit off of a '85 Bronco II in a junkyard. I didn't really know what it was, but the price was right, so I got it. I'm messing around with the truck a bit, waiting on my new gears to show up, and I'm trying to figure out what this kit is.
I've got three sets of springs now:
a) the stockers with 2" spacers, that I've been running for a few years. I'm considering stock spring and spacer together in all measurements.
b) what are supposed to be 2" lift springs, bought from a member here
c) red powdercoated springs from this kit.
Here on out, I'll refer to them by those letters...
unloaded heights of the springs are: a) 15", b) 15.5", c) 19.25"
I then unbolted shocks, radius arms, etc. so I could push the axle down as fas as possible and put the springs in place (I don't have swaybars so those were already gone). I loaded the suspension and measured from the top of my Warn hub to the inside of the fender opening for each spring. The measurements are a) 23", b) 24.5", c) 29.25".
The 23" is the way it sits now, which should be 2" over stock (not counting sag), so stock should be about 22"?
I'm thinking the (b) springs might be 3" lift, and the (c) could be 6" or 8"???
The radius arm drop brackets with the kit has 35L on it, if that means anything to anybody.
So, if anybody knows unloaded heights of the lift springs, or has a known kit and can take some measurements for me I'd appreciate it. The brackets I got off the Bronco are broken, so I need to either find replacements or try to get these fixed...but I need to know what they are.
