Help! My truck won't start.

HELP. i have a 99 ford explorer and it will not start.... i bought the truck from a buy here pay here about two years ago and only got one key. i had to jump my battery the other day and ever since the truck wont turn over. the theft light flashes continuously and im stuck. is there a way i can disable the alarm so my car could start.....and is there anyway i can avoid the dealership, i just cant afford it. thanks

You might get lucky and find a lockmsith that has the right tools to reprogram new keys for your truck but most often, that is a dealer-only service. It is recommended that if you have new keys made/programmed, get a total of three or more keys so you can program your own keys as needed, two working keys are needed to program on your own, a third key.

What I have noticed in the past was if the theft light is blinking rapidly then the PATS system is overriding the start of the truck. Even though I did get the rapid blinking theft light the truck still would at least crank.
