I have a '01 Sport 4.0L SOHC. I noticed that the short 90 degree rubber hose that connects to vacuum source at the front of the engine (joins hard plastic PCV line that runs down pass. side of engine, to engine) appears to be collapsed when the engine is running. I have searched the forums and found nothing on this. I replaced the PCV but the hose still collapsed. The hose feels really soft and I don't know if it should be that soft or not. Doesn't seem right to me. Anyone had this trouble? Hope someone can shed some light on this problem. The engine sounds and runs fine.

i would just replace the hose, if it feels soft its probably bad, invest a few bucks on it and get it out of your mind.
