HELP....tranny slip between 2nd and 3rd

OK....Heres the deal,,,had to change the cruze control switch on my wifes 99 explorer 4x4 sport,the off and on switch on steering wheel. i disconnected the battery before taking switch out...changed switch and took a drive to check cruze, everything worked good,like normal. THEN...the next day, on my way to town, the tranny slipped going from 2nd gear to 3rd. the tranny shifts fine except 2nd to 3rd. I was hoping somone could give me some advice on what the next step should be. did disconnecting the battery do somthing? there are no codes,or check engine lights ect. thanks

OH...one more thing. I,ve researched some threads and did,nt find one that had the same problem. i,ve read about valve body gasket blowing out,and that lucas might help. also the fluid looks and smells fine,but has,nt been changed since i,ve owned it....i,ve had it about 2yrs. i,am just at a deadend as what to do next.

It definitely seems like valve body gasket problem.

Sorry it took so long for me to reply, after reading some more post,and some web search,es i kinda think its valvebody gasket also....at least thats what i,am praying it is. put it in the shop today..i,ve known the shop owner forever,and he,s the best tranny man around here. i,ll post what it takes to fix it, in case somebody else has the same problem. thanks for the reply
