You'd have to track down where the leak is coming from. If it was a valve cover gasket leak.. it wouldn't be too bad. But anything else would be pretty spendy. :(

It depends on where your engine is leaking oil from and how fast it's leaking. If you're blowing oil past your rear main seal you may damage your clutch, that's if you have a 5 speed. If it's just a leaky gasket it won't hurt anything but the environment. That is unless you run too low on oil...

One of the techs on the site may be able to give you an idea of what the job would cost at a shop.

Geez, I'm just too slow on the keyboard today;) I have been just behind others with the same advice all day:)

I was looking at the number of posts. Not the join date. Pretty darn surprising to see someone who's been here for so long to only have 2 posts;)

I thought Fords were supposed to leak. My Ranger leaked from everywhere, the Explorer hardly leaks at all. :p: ;)

Frequent Oil Required Daily (FORD) :D

Oil usually leaves a mark when it leaks. I would suggest that you place a cardboard under the vehicle over night, and see what kind of oil is leaking, and the general location. This will give you something to go by. After doing this, examine that area with a utility light.

You could also try tackling the job yourself, the valve covers are pretty simple to do (couple hours tops if you haven't been in there before) the front seal would be a little harder but with a little know how (or a buddy's know how ;) ) you could probably manage. ;)
