I am having trouble Getting this kit in the UK. Does anyone Know of a ford dealer that will Mail it to me, i could call?
Any one comming to UK I could meet at airport could bring it MY X is off the road till done

Thanks Dick Brooks.

Search for the threads about "chain cassettes" and "chain tensioner" there are lots of pictures and part numbers in those. Good luck,

Thanks Job done

Luckily i went to a Ford Dealer that had a Mech' that had done the job previously. Had enough interest to keep the UK part numbers. Now sounds like new except for the bottom chain gives a light GRRR' untill it warms up, gets enough oil. Going by the design, slack taken up by guides instead of jockey whheels. Since when has a modern engine not had jockey whheeels on the chains this seems like a throw back.

Thanks Dick.

I believe the new design is the problem. The tensioners are unique, easily replaced, but they don't last as long as the engine. The plastic which lines the cam chain guides also doesn't last as long as it should. The pre 2002 models had that plastic coming apart in large numbers of engines. These parts are what the recalls were about. The recalls don't cover every one of these parts, even though the unrecalled parts are likely the same quality. The rear chain cassette is a massive job to do, and Ford never officially recalled it. Regards,
