1997 XLT V8 AWD
Hey i just bought a 1997 Explorer V8 AWD XLT and i wanted to put some bigger tires on it and i was wondering what is a good sixe for not having a lift kit in it, i also want to put a power programmer in it so that i can get a couple more hp out of it and a lil better mpg so any suggestions with this would help.

hey man welcome I would like to know this also. What size of tires max you can fit stock on them.

What size rims do you two have?
Overall diameter on the 1st and 2nd gen (91-01) biggest you can go is 31" without a lift kit.

yea right now have the stock 15 inch rims on it but i will proabaly get new ones when i find tires to put on it

There are lots of posts about this: You should be fine with 31x10.50 with stock wheels. I was able to fit 31x11.50 with no problem on stock rims. Welcome to the site--you will never find more info for Explorers anywhere else.

iight thanks dude, but do you have ne suggestions for a power programmer that will work for a 97 xlt
