Got my VVME HID kit delivered today.

Well I thought I would go ahead and test them out. So I plugged them in as the instructions stated. Not real difficult just matched up the connectors and went to turn them on and got nothing.
Tried both bulb sets with both ballasts and both headlight side. Nothing, not even a flicker.
I have read nothing but good things other than lengthy shipping at times from vvme. Any suggestions???

check to see if they have the wires backwards, a friend of mine ordered some and his wiring was backwards, all he did was swap the wiring around and it worked like a charm. and by wiring i mean his high and lo beam wires were in the wrong place on the conectors

am I reading the price of their kits properly?
$42??? That could be your issue right there.

I ordered eBay HIDs and had the same problem, thought i was scammed till they told me to switch the positive and negative in the plastic housing. Worked ever since..

quality of the product is top notch really. I was quite surprised. I have read nothing but good things about them. The idea behind it is kind of the same as Swiss watches. You can spend thousands for a watch with Swiss watch or you can spend hundreds for a Swiss movement watch made in Japan that functions exactly the same.

In this case it uses German designed Hella technology but it is made in Japan.
Very solid pieces so far.
Problem seems to be on my end and I paid no attention to the polarit markings on the ballasts. sounds like I do have the polarities switched. I emailed them earlier in the day and they told me to switch the polarities. So we'll see tomorrow when I get up.

Problem Solved!

Nothing more than a polarity issue on my end. Guess that's what you get doing something 20 minutes before you have to be at work.
You miss the + and - embossed on the ballast.

glad it was just a simple wire miss up/ and yeah never rush to get stuff done cause you either forget something or end up doing it wrong

yeah just one of those things though. the nice new box you have been anxiously awaiting arrives and you want to get too it.

Ohh well they go in for good tomorrow.

So how is the light quality? I have a 06 that uses the H13 bulb (9008) and although it would cost me more than it did for you i still feel like $76.00 bucks is a great price for hid lights.

I haven't tested them out. All I did was hook them up real quick to make sure they worked. I put one in the housing compared it to the halogen and it looked great. But it was also 10 in the morning so full daylight.

I got the 6000K kit so it should look pretty good.
The full install goes on tomorrow so I will be able to give a better update then. Though I work at night so I won't have a driving update for a couple days.

I have read nothing but good things on all sorts of car forums. Here is a you tube video to a VVME kit and it looks great.

I have the mydepot kit in my jag and I must say I was shocked with the quality of the kit. I paid like $78 bucks shipped and it has lasted over a year now and I haven't had any problems. I spent more on silverstars that blew up every couple of days. Though many people got their kits in 5-6 days I didn't get mine for about a month and they missed my road trip which was why I bought them. There was a problem with the ems shipping company not mydepot personally so it sucked cuz he wouldn't do anything to help and a paypal claim was what it took for him to look into why I wasn't getting the product. In the end he took it to the shipper when he said he did but they didn't bother shipping when he brought it up there.

Well they are all mounted up finally. I turned them on the other night and they looked great. Output was excellent, great cut offs and they were the same color.

I will take them out tonight and see how they look driving.

This thread is worthless without pictures! ; )

Sorry the video is pretty crappy. Just a point and shoot Nikon nothing fancy.
But I added some 6000K HID Xenon Lights. It's almost like turning on the sun. 6000K of pure white light. (click on the pic to play)

I have had the same issue with 2 different sets of HID's I ordered. One set on my Jeep Grand Cherokee and now on my X.

What was that shipping problems?

Video looks good wonder what the fogs would look like??? It seems as though the fogs on my mounty put down light on the road better than the headlights?

Shipping time was 5 days from China. So that's not bad in my opinion.

The problem I had was with DHL and not VVME.

DHL in an effort to save gas decided that since I was not home would deliver the package to my neighbors. People that just moved in 2 weeks ago and I have never talked to. I have a problem with them giving my packages to random people.

HIDs are a bad idea for fog lights. Hence there are not factory vehicles with HID fogs.
HIDs cause a lot of refraction in serious weather conditions snow and fog being the worst. Ever put your brights on in a snow storm of thick fog? Well multiply that be about 10 with HIDs.

A standard halogen fog light will cut the inclimate weather nicely. Yellow halogens will do even better. So I will be replacing the fogs with yellow Halogens.
Had them in my Audi and visibility was excellent in all weather.

I can't remember if it was FEDEX or UPS but one of them wouldn't deliever my package unless someone was home or I had to sign a sheet stating exactly where to put the package. That was only once, now they just drop it on my porch. I like them just dropping it because I get it much faster but last time I had 4 speakers and an amp in a good size box. It could have easily been stolen.

About the Fog's. When angled right, the light shouldn't bounce back in your face. It should be angled low on the ground so that if the light does get thrown back, it goes under the car or onto the bumper.
