...It might cost a whole lot less if they were to build with recycled products....Your statement is exactly how I see most of the "Eco-Friendly" retail item's being manufactured...They don't recycle and they don't manufacture with "low cost" energy...

...But, it is a start I guess in a better alternative...and I wouldn't mind getting 134 mpg...:D

...Did you notice in the video, he almost hit than van...Pretty brave for a test vehicle...

...In this economy, this is some great news for a California based company..Heck, any company...

"All eyes have been on Tesla Motors this week as they made the monumental step of becoming the first automotive company to go public in 54 years. The last company to jump into the public pool was Ford, way back in 1956. As Tesla made its debut on Wall Street, financial analysts projected that opening bids on the shares would start between $14-16. According to Autoblog Green, Tesla outperformed expectation selling 13.5 million shares at a whopping $23.89 by market’s close. That’s a 40.53 percent increase from the $17 initial public offering (IPO) which netted the company $226 million in new investor money. It should also be noted that this was in the midst of the NASDAQ being down."

why the @$%# do they rate energy consumption of electric cars in "miles per GALLON"

last time i checked, electricity wasn't measured in gallons.

how about miles per kilowatt hour, or something that actually has some meaning?
