lift kit + body lift?

I'm doing an sas and will be spending under 2000 bucks all in all (I think!) Currently i've spent about 700 bucks and all i have to get is coils and tires. It's a trail only rig so i'm going to be using offroad retreads :). I will have a few misc. axle rebuilt things to buy but all in all I should come in under 2k. That's the product of doing EVERYTHING yourself (even gears) and taking your time to hunt for good deals, even doing abit of work for other people to get parts for free :D. I gaurentee i'll have a rig that's just as capapable as those with 5k+ in their sas ;)

The benifit of an sas is you can lift it pretty much any amount you want! I'm ONLY going to lift mine about 5.5-6"s though since i'm not worried about trimming (alot lol)

I don't think anyone has ever tried to lift their explorer on this board. You can search, but I doubt it would help ;)

If your truck is 2WD you can do spindles, TT, and 2" body lift for under a grand not including the cost of tires. That will get you the 6" you want. If you're 4WD you can do a 2" TT and 3" body lift for under $500.

i think its stupid to lift one, to much chance of rolling it....

on a side note, i do get ALOT of people asking, why the hell i lifted an X

Yeah, lifting a 2 wheeler's even worse!

the dude who started this is probly like wtf are these guys talkin about

Yeah, confusing people is fun.

oh yes...and wheres that guy hauling my comment asking why anyone would want to lift a 2wd...so yeah just took pics of my X lifted and on 32s....though i still havn't posted them on cardomain but i think this might be a good time for myspace...

Im confused.....
anyways, i have a 4wd(duh im in colorado)

haha thats the intent, some ppl on here have 2wd Xs and they still lift them. but where in CO are u? i'm in the springs at CC...

6" for under $2K with a 2000 4x4 is going to be tough :)
3" BL is cheap, but will only get you 3"
The torsion twsit and shackles is also cheap but only gets you 1.5-2 if you are lucky.

So the other 2" is tough to get without a drop bracket IFS lift kit and spindles, thats when it gets really pricey :)

Or you can go solid axle up front, spring over in the rear, skip the body lift, get your 6" and come in right at about $2K depending on your axle and build.

Tilt168 im in parker, pretty flat 'round here.

I looked online at the 4'' Superlift kit and the 4'' trailmaster kit. the trailmaster is cheaper, but i have heard that the superlift is a better kit. Could i buy the trailmaster and do the labor myself and then do a torsion twist in the front and something else in the back for a couple more inches?
