03 w/V6 DOHC. 18mph average. Purchased new and currently have 80k+ miles. This is my 3rd Explorer; 98 was a piece of crap-in the shop 20 times in 18 months. SUV drove good and got good gas mileage but was a lemon. The 2nd was a 2000....never had any problems but it did not drive as well as the 98 nor get as good gas mileage. The 2003 has been great buy I'm now hearing a roar coming (I think) from the rearend...and the leak I can't seem to find. Don't want to trade but if I can't find the leak will have to do something before electrical problems come up. Don't have a garage so have to cover during rainy weather and we've had more than enough of that this year.
05 mountaineer 4.6 AWD 86,268mi 10mpg city-20mpg hwy....i had it for exactly a year and i bought wit 67,000 on it. since then i replaced front and back brakes, 3 hub assemblies, and serpantine belt....mobile 1 5w20 every 5000miles
Just got the tranny flushed, transfer case fluid changed, checked the diff fluid levels, filled the engine with 10w30 Mobil1 Full Synthetic, and doing plugs and cables soon. My goal is to keep this truck in the best shape I can for as long as I can.
I got it with 73k miles 4 months ago and the only problem ive had so far is the rear drivers side wheel bearing completely falling apart to the point that my wheel almost fell off when I was going to the shop =)
i got a 1993 EB and just rolled over to 74,000 the other day.
before i owned it a 77 year old woman owned it, only place she went was to church, the flower shop and the food market...
here she sits shortly after wax and some fresh black on the wipers and grill (wipers are drying...)
here she sits now...that old woman would prob have a heart attack!
haha well i just got it now, my dad bought it in 2003 with about 28k on it. he did all the miles, he gave it to me a thousand miles ago lol......well lets see. shocks and bearings are a pain, but i DO live in PA, so thats probably why. i am on my second tranny, and transfer case. the transfer case was Ford's fault tho because they didnt bolt in the new tranny properly. so i think that wouldve still been fine. they were both done right after the 200k mark. oh and at 100k a couple sensors went bad one by one, the intake manifold and head gaskets gave in RIGHT before my dad gave it to me. got them changed and now its running PERFECTLY! i do a 400 miles roundtrip every other week and i feel 100% safe in this thing!
I have not yet tested it. It really needs 4 of those amps. 5000 watts is grossly underpowering. I just don't care anymore about systems. It was an impulse buy lol
