hissing from gas tank area (not fuel pump hum)

Hey guys. ive got the 96 xlt 4.0 ohv v6 and i hear a hissing noise coming from near the gas tank under the truck and i was wondering if theres vacuum down there or what? I don't have any codes. I get 220 miles to a tank.
