I'm 60-70% through building a set of headers for my 5.0 mounty. I'm wondering if anyone else has home built any and what they have come up with. I've searched and searched, and all I've found is ford motor sports, and torque monsters. I find it hard to believe that no one else has built any. If your out there lets share ideas I want to beleive I'm not the only one...

Built a pair but for a 4.0 SOHC -- from mild steel and long for low-end torque.

those are pretty bas ass, I'm going to get pics up hopully tonight, I have 5-7 hours left of work, and I want to get them done before I have to start my new job tomorrow. Yours look like you really took some time and did right what you had in mind. Due to the udder lack of room I've had to revise mine 3-4 times now what I thought was going to work wasn't even close, so now I have one, that I'll call an ultra short tube basically a sheet metal manifold, and the other one is going all over the place tring to avoid fuel lines, and the steering shaft (there will be alot of heat wrap involved)... I have built tons of headers and it has never taken me this long i thought they'd be quick and easy, but i guess there is a reason headers are $800+ for this thing.. things just don't fit were you think they would...

Questions where are the clearance issues on a 2000 2wd explorer 5.0L? Steering,a/c box, frame.firewall or what? Can you give a idea where the issues are? Thanks for your time

iirc to run say mustang headers the issue is frame clearence iirc. hebce why TMH even arent the size of some of the mustang headers

The clearance issues are many, mainly the four UCA frame mounts, and the steering shaft that goes through the left manifold. Nothing else will fit at all besides those made for the 2nd gen 302 Explorer. Find someone who can build basic log manifolds, and have them make a simple set. Don't make it complicated, a simple log manifold will outflow greatly the horrible stock manifolds.
