horn beep on door lock

2014 Explorer Limited..............

when I lock the doors with the key fob the headlights flash and the horn honks to confirm lock, when I touch the sensor on the door handle the doors lock but no horn honk.... Is there a way to get a confirmation honk when touching the door sensor?

The horn does not sound when using the door handle touch pad. The confirmation that it is locked is that the little lock pins in the doors pop down and you can hear that as well. I have never used the fob to lock the Explorer. The only time I've ever used the 'lock' button was when I used the remote start sequence.

thanks. I guess that is why I could not find reference to it in the owners manual. I too never plan on using the key fob lock button, which makes these even more annoying.

When I close my door I put my entire palm on the handle and push it closed, which locks to door immediately. This allows me to feel the door locking through my palm.
