I have a 2018 FPIU 3.5. Using Forscan to enable some convenience features, one being the horn/light feedback when locking the car using the keyfob. In theory, it should honk on the second press of the lock button, and flash the hazards on each press. My horn does work.

I used Forscan to disable dark car, and enable both horn and light feedback, but it doesn't seem to work at all. No light/horn feedback when locking. What's weird is my courtesy lamps do not work, even though dark car is disabled. If I have the key ON in the ignition, the courtesy lamps work as they should, and the horn chirps when I lock it. As soon as I take the key out, everything stops working.

I'm following the various spreadsheets on Forscan codes to the T, but even using the "Easy" configure non AS BUILT modes does not work. It shows the correct settings, but it doesn't seem like they apply. I've changed other things like disabling the trunk release button requirement, and enabled the AWD gauge. Those both enabled just fine, so not sure why the horn feedback doesn't work.

Do you have the "Silent Car" (or something to that effect option) on the IPC? Sound like that with my car with that option on.

No - but I appreciate you for pointing me in the right direction. It works! So you have to disable dark car AND disable silent via IPC. I didn't mess with the IPC option at all, so I did not have access to disable silent mode via IPC. Found the code to enable the option, and was able to disable silent mode which made everything work.

For anyone else looking, here is what changed:

Dark Car/Silent Mode/Courtesy Lamp Disable
720-04-01 xxx4 xxxx xxxx this allows control in IPC menu (I believe this only works with PIU/base IPC)
2016-18 Police Utility Forscan Settings

Try disabling "Silent Mode" in the cluster. I believe it's in settings > convenience. If you've done this, try enabling locking feedback and disabling silent mode in FORScan.

Hey, I _just_ got this to work. Was bagging my head why it wouldn't work after disabling dark car. Turns out there's another config option called "Silent Mode 5". I disabled that and I got flashing lights and horn honk when I unlock and lock the car. Good luck!

Yep, I got it to work too. Thanks!
