How can I tell if it's an XLS?

I just picked up another 2000 Sport. Am I crazy or what?
It has less options than my other Sport; different console,
no overhead console, no fogs, more narrow lower side trim,
no puddle lamps, no power seats....that's about it.

Thinking about getting leather seat covers, and need to
know if this one's an "XLS"?

According to my 2000 Ford Workshop Manual positions 5-7 in VIN# indicate vehicle line,series and body type. Example-U62 is Explorer, 4x2,4 door,XLS. U70 is Explorer, 4x4, 2 door, Sport. The Sports are only shown as Sport. There is no XL, XLS,..... designation for the 2 door. This information may apply to the year 2000 only.

Thanks for the info, Rego.

Both of mine are U60, (Sport 2WD). What was tripping me
up was the seat cover supplier differentiated between
2-dr and Sport XLS seatcovers. They listed several years
as being the same though, I think 99-01.

I suspect their XLS designation was for 4-drs. Anyway,
I'll confirm with them before ordering.
