How difficult to install ARB locker in '94 dana 35??

THATS ALOT OF $$$$$

is that with you bringing the diff and used ARB to him?
Is he also doing the ring and pinion with new carrier bearings?

$400 is pricey if you ask me just to re-seal and install an ARB. I would think half that is more like it if I am correct in assuming you are bringing him the diff, and supply the ARB, are not doign gears...

Shop around.
1. he is re-luctant to do the work,
2. Sounds like he has difficulty with the ARB (not alot of experience)
3. 1 + 2 = I would shop around. How many times do you want to pull the front diff because of locker problems? None right? Find somebody who knows how to do it, has done it before, and doesnt complain about it!!

Just IMO

That is with me just dropping off the truck. Yes that includes new carrier bearings.

The reason he's reluctant to install it is not cause he doesn't know what he's doing its cause hes done so many of them that he finds 1) He cant beat most of the prices on the ARB locker and 2) he usually ends up loosing money on the install.

This guy is good, knows what he's doing, hes just being up front about his opinions. He stands behind he work and wants a happy customer.

$400 is a whole nother story if you are taking the truck to him.

He has to:
pull both wheels, hubs, brakes, spindles, axles

then unbolt the diff from the beam, on your truck with the Superlift kit this could be tricky tricky.
Then he can do the work inside the diff, and he will have to notch the beam to clear the air line, replace both axle seals and the carrier bearings.
Clean up the beam, silicoln and remount the diff, put everything back together.

Thats ALOT of work for $400, good deal IMO.

he will charge you for fluids, seals, etc most likely so you need to be prepared for that, you may even bring him whatever you can ahead of time to save some $$$

If it's drop off the truck, and get it back - and all you have to do is setup the compressor, air line, and wiring - that's not too bad. I paid $300 for the local diff guy to do mine originally, and that didn't include the compressor, air line installation, or wiring. He kept cussing up a storm about them - Always told me $300 was not enough to deal with the TTB crap.

Best get it done ASAP, Moab is next week. :)

Good idea and thanks for the feedback. Now I will have to see how much cash I have left over from Moab to get it installed.

Yeah I paid over $300 I think for the front diff, to re-seal a used ARB, install 4.10 bearings and seals.

I dropped off the 3rd memeber myself and did everything else myself, then I brought them the truck and had the 4.10 and L/S rebuilt in the back...

I supplied the gears, install kits, and the ARB..
I also bought my compressor from them even though he was a little more then the competition I chose to go to him because I support the shops who do a good job for me :)
