how do u know if u have stock amp and sub

i have a 2002 xlt, it has a 6disc cd in dash like all do i think, i dont believe it has a stock sub and amp. how do i go about finding them if i do have them? i just ordered some infinity kappa 6x8 so i hope i can just pull the stockers out and slip those bad boys in. but idk if i have the amp and sub....

This is the only link I could find... It says there isn't an external amp. But I'll look a little more... From what I'm reading, the amp is an integral part of the h/u for 3rd gen Exs.

turn it up real loud and see if you get a good bass kick... or if it's just crappy ford sound.

On my '04 the Sub is the Right Rear QTR panel, if you have a speaker grill there you should have the sub/amp. Also back of the radio there are 3 plugs. Although most of the Junyard '02's ive seen don't have it.

well i have an 02 and the grill is on the back left side, so im assuming it is a sub, since am i jst gonna replace the speakers how do i get rid of the amp and sub?

well u know assuming is wrong, looked on both back sides and popped up the panels now sub.. where else couldit be?

Quick question... If you're replacing the speakers, why do you need to chuck the amp and sub (if there)? Also, did you check the back of the stereo to see if an amp is plugged in? Are you putting in aftermarket gear?

yea im going all aftermarket, idk if i have an amp but i didnt find the sub in either qtr panels

Your stereo likely has the internal amp... check this link and see what model you have, and this site will tell you if you have an internal amp base on your model...

also if i do have the stock amp, and i put my aftermarket speakers in there, will they sound better with aftermarket HU or should sound the same?
