Like the questions starts, how far can you cut into the rear wheel weels and still keep the back seats (or use b2 rear seat)? It is a 92 4dr X and I will be using it offroad only (other than getting to the play spots) and I will be putting a 4" lift and running 35" tires with 4.88 gears and would like to keep this extremely low with the 35" tires. I'm not against welding the rear doors shut and reshaping the rear wheel wells as long as I can keep the rear seats, I'm not real concerned about looks as I will be doing some seriuos cutting on the body and it will be beat to death over the next several years anyway. I already tried the search function and didnt find to many answers, so any comments, suggestions, or answers are greatly appretiated. Also I love this site so many answers and photos to read and look through.

I'd say go backwards with it if anything. Look at JamesT's build for some nice fenderwell work. And I got new springs once and put them suckers on backwards only to realize that the "center" pin is actually forward about 3". All that work to realize I needed to do all the work over again and my rear axle was 3" back.

Here's a gutted photo that may help for point of reference.

Thanks abunch DannyBoy! I think cutting that far will weakin the body to much even if the doors were welded shut, so about the other thing your sayin is I could turn my springs around (front to rear) and that would move the axle 3" rearward? Do you think this would also work for a set of the 64" chevy leafs, provided a person moves the mounts in according to the reversal? Also Thanks alot for the pic, this has all been alot of help.
