Hi, I have a 2004 explorer xlt with 55,000 miles. I've been having a problem with my front drive shaft, with it in I get a vibration/ shudder between 3 & 4000 rpm, with it out the truck is smooth, no problems at all. Now with it in 4 wheel drive and the drive shaft installed it works fine, but yet in 2 wheel drive I get the vib, I don't get it.
The cv joint and the u joint are both fine, I have one balance weight on each end. I noticed on the u joint end opposite the one weight there is a light colored rust circle that appears there was a weight there at one time.
How many weights should i have? Thanks.
