How many have ATF coolers?

Thanks Guys

no, you have the 4R70W (like me) and it is known to be a fairly reliable tranny.....but put a cooler on it anyway.

Thanks for the info. Since I got this thing I've had to do all the prakes and rotors. Including the parkink brakes. both half shafts. figure out how to reset the Radio, and door locks (after pulling out the radio to look for shorts) after the anti theft disabled them. (This was without Fords help and any codes). Reconected the Touch Pad entry/ door locks.

I still have to fix the turn signals that work at random, replace the nice cracked factory exhaust headers, all of the shocks, and ... well you guys know.

Any recomendations?

Aside from all that, My family loves the truck. It is slated to possibly replace my gen I 4runner if it does well in the snow and mountains this winter.

I have the towing package on my '92. Transmission started slipping at 36k, and I nursed it for 50k more till it finally died. Had it rebuilt about 40k ago (aamco). Now I am getting a jerk (thought engine was missing) when reapplying throttle at 2k or less rpm, at highway speeds.
Starting to think it's the stinking transmission, anyone else had this? What't the fix/ damage?

no, i was talkin to zekex2. should have used a quote on that one... sorry:banghead:

Oh , okay. Nobody answered my other question.
Do you run the tranny cooler in addition to the rad cooler ? And if so do you run it before or after the rad cooler.

The factory cooler is routed after the radiator, so if anyone has the factory cooler, then yes they are in series. Even when I get my new cooler, I will leave the system as is and run it all in series with the following order:

tranny->remote filter->radiator->tranny cooler with fan->back to tranny

Thanks man.

hi there,
im a newbe and was wondering about this tranny cooler stuff. where is this AUX cooler located and how big is it? i looked under my 96 EB and i noticed i had a radiator and also another form of a cooling device infront of the radiator. both the same size. also there is a little box cooler mounted on the rack and pinion.. i take that is the power steering pump cooler. maybe someone could take some pictures to help out the inexperienced X drivers? thanks a bunch
