How much do you pay to insure your xploder?

Just wondering what everyone pays to insure the xploder....i heard at one time it was the highest car to insure..

i pay 136 a month for full coverage, and i'm 19..and thats with my good student discount....


what do ya'll pay?

I pay around $65 a month. That is with full coverage and a $100 deductible for comp and $500 for collision. I also have another car and a tent trailer plus my house all with the same company. Plus I am married and over 25. All these things add up to discounts. When I was 19 I had a 1989 Escort GT that was only 1 yr old. I paid $199 a month back then because they classified it as a performance car 'cause it said GT in the name. Heck, it was more than my $133 a month car payment. What a crock. When I turned 21 it went down in price a little. But the biggest drop is when I got married. They seem to think you are more stable when that happens? I would say that your price is pretty good considering the vehicle, your age and your discount. If you are still in school (college) keep up the grades. Once I was out of trade school I had to give up my student discount.

I forgot to mention that mine is through State Farm as well as some others here. And yes, the more different coverages you have (car, home/renter's, life, etc.) through State Farm the more of a discount you get. I might have to look into the life insurance thing with them.

I am using State Farm insurance. I am under the same insurer as my parents. I pay I believe 260-300 every 6 mo on my 94 limited... as far as I remember, but could be wrong. I'm 20 witha good student discount and if I'm wrong I shall update

i pay about 1200 every 6 months through geico. maybe i should look into that student discount? im a 22, male, from ny, no tickets or anything...i dont get it

USAA, $70 per month full coverage on my truck and my wifes 97 civic.

Hey we just cancelled our Geico insurance plan. They are SO expensive! We went with country companies and it saved me quite a bit. i'll get you a figure, but i used to pay $200 a month with Geico. I'm 19, primary on the explorer with full coverage and no tickets or anything.
Also Geico does not offer any kind of good student discount. With Counrty I get a good student discount as long as I keep my GPA over 3.0. The discount is like $150 every 6 months.

Have you had any tickets or accidents that would cause it to still be so high? I thought after 25 it dropped a lot?

I pay $480 every six months for full coverage on my Explorer and my Ranger with State Farm. I'm 36 and have a clean record for the last three years.

No tickets, accidents (except when my X was totalled, but the price hasnt changed since then). It may have someting to do with living in Brooklyn, thats my guess. Its remained about the same for the past 6-7 years.

Don't worry, I was paying $200 a month while I was living in Vegas.

WOW, I thought most things were cheaper in the States ,I guess insurance isnt. I pay about $680.00(cdn) for a year full coverage. I,m 35 with two or three speeding tickets still on my record.

I pay 200 a month for both my Explorer (full coverage w/ $500 deductables) and my Mach 1 (full coverage, stated value $13,000)... 20 years old, good student discount, driver's ed discount, last ticket was about 2 1/2 years ago. Insured through State Farm, my brother's Ram 1500 is under my name too (insuring it under his name costs too much), so I get multi-car discounts.

wow, at least i'm not the only one that has to pay kinda high...
its crap because the truck is fully in my name, with only my parents as co-signers, so i am insured as the primary driver, thats why i pay 136 for full coverage a month.

my girlfriend who is 18, drives a 94 honda civic, only pays 300 every 6 months, because the car is in her moms name, and she is listed as a i guess secondary driver of the car.....wish i could pay 300 every 6 months...

but i guess mommy and daddy won't always be there to help ya..huh?
