How much the block can stand.

Are you kidding me...the INTAKE ALONE would cost more than the heads....

Have you seen the Intake on an F1 engine? I'm not SUPER impressed with the F1 cars...300hp @ 16,000 rpms..seems like alot of wear and tear for only 300 hp.

300? Maybe in the 1940s. These days, try 300 x 2.5!!. And all that from 2.4liters naturally aspirated - about half the displacement of your original engine. In the 80s and 90s, engines were producing over 1000 hp. F1's are the primo supreeeeemo when it comes to automotive engineering - the most impressive automobiles IMO. The power to weight ratio is so much it'll take the averag gear head a few hours to learn how to get an F1 off the line w/o the computer shutting down the engine.

F1 engines turn about 19000 rpm's, have a piston speed of over 700 mph one direction, and 700 mph the other changing direction about 150 times per second

annnnd the intake charge speed is approaching the speed of sound-
any faster and there would be sonic booms inside the engine.

They idle about 7000- 8000 rpm's
