Hey guys, I am planning to put a motorcycle carrier on the back of my 1996 Ford Explorer XLT (V6) to transport my bike around. It will be used for fairly long but infrequent drives about 4 hours each way. This would only be a once a year type deal though.

The question I want to ask however is how do I find out the the maximum tongue weight on my explorer? Also, how do I find out what Class hitch I have? I have a Reese 2" inch but I do not know what class category it falls under.

Any help is appreciated!

You don't need to post this in more than one forum.

Both those #'s should be on your receiver. If not, I'd try to find a part # and go to their website for the specs.
