I did this install on my previous 2009 F150, so I figured I'd be able to do it to my new Sport Trac. Here's a brief write up. First of all, you will need an 09-up F150 backup camera bezel and emblem setup with harness. I got mine on Ebay for $125.00 which included free shipping brand new. Seller was nailsandsales. The Sport Trac and F150 have the same size Ford Oval on the tailgate, which is about where the similarities end.
I used the following threads from F150online to help with wiring.

First step is to remove the tailgate. This makes is much easier. I put it on my kitchen table. This is what we start with.
The next step is to remove the OEM oval. It is on with double sided tape. I pain to remove. Use a screwdriver but make sure you protect your paint.
I ruined the oval taking it off.
The next step is a little scary. You have to cut out a square for the backup camera to fit in to. You will see about how much you need to cut. I didnt have a fancy tool so I drilled and used some snips. File it down and paint the exposed metal so that it doesnt rust. This is the worst part of the project.
Slide the camera in, checking for clearance. Route the wire down through the tailgate and out one of the holes in the bottom.
I used some clear silicone and then sheet metal screws to attach the camera bezel to the tailgate. This way there are no leaks around the camera. I will have some paint touchup to do once it all dries.
Now to route the wiring. Drill a hole through the plastic under where the wires come out of the tailgate. The harness will be fed down under the bed through this hole.
Now snap the Ford oval onto the bezel. Just be aware that it is a one time use oval. It will not come off now without breaking it.
You can figure out how to wire everything up on the F150 sites I posted. I will be using the camera with a new navigation unit from trustigo when I get it. The same applies for any aftermarket nav unit. I routed the wiring along the drivers side frame and drilled a hole into the passenger compartment under the wiring track on the drivers side next to the back seat. You can pull your power for the camera from the backup lights at the tailgate, but Im going to have mine switched with the ignition that way I can see what is going on back there even when the truck isnt is reverse. I will post more pics when I get the nav unit installed.
