Locate the TDC mark on the balancer and the pointer of the crank sensor(about 10 O'clock looking at the crank).
Remove the #1 plug, front right. Place a finger over the hole lightly and turn the crank(15/16") until you feel air push out the finger. That will be very close to the TDC.
Now turn the crank the very small amount needed to line up the TDC mark perfectly with the pointer. That is how to find TDC, now you can set the cam sensor with the tool. Align the tool on the synchronizer and install it with the electrical connector facing forward. It should go down easily.
If it doesn't want to go the last distance, you need to move the crank slightly in either direction, until the synchronizer will fall down all of the way. If you have to move the crank away from TDC to do that, move it back to finish the TDC install. Regards,
