How to open doors on 96 XLT

I've been having door problems and must have waited to long to try the numerous fixes listed on this site. My problem is I can't open eiother back door from inside our outside? Any suggestions on how to get door open so I can get panel off and start getting at my problem(s)? Thanks

I think you might be able to get to the inner lever "rod" by removing the trim around the inner lever handle-then remove the handle-
