My old remote for my renote start was washed and doesn't work. I bought a new one offline and know I can't figure out how to program it. I live in Alaska and would really like to have it working before it snows. Car is a 02 ford Explorer.

I had no clue they made remote start on the 02-05...

They didn't it's aftermarket so no way to help without knowing brand model etc

It says ford on the remote. I beleive it's a code alarm they put in the explorer that year. It does not program by turning your Key off and on 8 times like you do you lock/ unlock key fob.

The renote is a Goh-m24 has a key icon for auto start and a panic button. Only numbers on the box is self says ford securilock and lbl1237.

Hmm my remote is goh-four

I'll try to find the programming manual see if it works the same...

Mine doesn't have the Lock/unlock on the remote. My Explorer has seperate key fobs for the locks! I tried to turn key on 3 times and listen for beep with my foot on the brake. No Go. Nothing happened. I'm sure I need to push the Valet Button and do something. I live in a remote area in Alaska no Dealer is close at all.

Have you searched on the audiovox site?

Yes, can't figure out the Model # of it. How it is mounted I can't see the back side of it.

is there any auto start place nearby? it doesnt have to be a ford dealer...any autostart place can reprogram it

Ford offered (and still does) Dealer installed (not factory) aftermarket remote start systems from CodeAlarm. They have a contract with Ford which is why they are Ford branded. If you call CodeAlarm/Audiovox they will be able to walk you through programming. When I installed my remote start kit I went with CodeAlarm because I knew it would work with my Ford. They were really helpful in the installation programming of mine.
