How to: Steering mod: Rag Joint to U-joint ZJ Shaft

looked one over, column side still too small. what in the hecks.
You might just need to spread it open some to get to fit on the 3/4" stub. I had to take the dremel and grind a flat spot on the stub to allow a bolt to fit over it.

You shaved off some of the material on the shaft coming from the column?

If that works, being mine has a different lip with a recessed flat spot for it's pinch bolt and the rest is round, will it be fine to just pinch bolt it on and not use a through bolt on the column shaft like explorers have?

Removed just enough across it, to allow the outer pinch bolt to slide over.

I wouldn't run one without it personally. The pass thru bolt keeps it from coming off.

You guys just need to make sure you find the flat style clamp column end on the shafts, not the thick alum cast style.

@FR-425 How is yours holding up?

Yea I got mine on eBay. The year range specified matched and I didn't notice how the connection looked. Paid $30, oh well. I'll keep looking.

Maybe?
