thats cool dude...why did u pick the boston subs??
I picked Bostons over many due to the clean sound they give. Loud bass that is distorted just isn't for me. Some just don't like Boston Accoutics because they are expensive to start with, but the quality of sound you get to me is unsurpassed.

they are very touchy with respect to box size too though, i've seen them installed a few times where theysounded awful. I am sure that when they do get it finally done though it will be done right with that respect.

hey BBQ what are u running for the fronts and such??

hey BBQ what are u running for the fronts and such??
I have 2 pairs of Boston Z6 speakers for door. They ran me 1K a pair. Hope to make it 3 pairs soon. Pushing those with the Alpine 540 Amps. I bought 2 of them. To push each sub, I got the Alpine 500 Mono amp, 2, 1 for each sub. The only thing that I don't know right now is if the subs will sound right the way they are doing it. I took pictures yesterday and sent them to someone here, but they are not posted yet. From what I can tell, they are doing some fiberglass amp rack. I do not see an enclosure though. They will be aimed at the roof and not at the rear of the truck like I thought. The 4 amps are running down the middle of the rack with the 2 subs on the side at an angle. I must call them today and check this out, the enclosure part of it. It just doesn't look right to me at this time, but it may work.

Can someone post some pics for me?

Sure,

Check you pm's...the second one, the first one I sent the wrong address.

LOL, I know. I got it back right after I sent it. I did re-send it to the correct address in a zip file called truck. Did you receive it? Do I need to re-send it to you?

Thanks,
Ronnie

Taking care of it right now.

Turns out it was deleted @$%@$% .

Can you send the file again? Sorry about that.

the door pannels look like they are going to be sweet =)

when u go and ask them about the box ask them what they are going to do to tie it into the sides of the truck..kinda looks like it is floating in there now

also..take them some boxs so ur amps dont have to sit on each other in the back seat lol

looking good BBQ keep the pics coming =)

The sides will be molded togeather with a removable type flap I beleive. I have to have access to the left side for the jack. Some how on the door panels they want the crossovers to show. I don't know exactly how they are going to do it just yet, but do know it is planned. When they are done the whole back will be smooth and look like 1 peice, like the other thread is that is being done but painted black.

pics no work for me?

Hmm, they are working for me. They must be large files, I did not check them. I must have had a setting wrong on my camera cause I am on cable and the pages are slow even to me. I need to reduce them somehow.

thats gunna be sweet BBQ

do u have a car alarm? or something like that

i ask because my friend has had his stereo stolen a few weeks ago (mostly his fault though but still)

That server is going through a move, so it might be done for a min or two every now and then.

When I get home I'll shrink them down and repost them smaller.

Thanks ETC. Yes, I definately have a very good working alarm. That should always be your first mod. But I have always said, that alarms only keep honest people honest. If a thief wants it, he will find a way to get it. That is why the first stop on the way home from the install is at the insurance office with pictures and serial numbers. I have to cut my losses if it happens. I just called Envirotech and talked to them for quite some time and also Boston Accoustics techs. There will some MDF sides installed along the figerglass to create an enclosure. Boston techs said this would work out great and told me not to worry, it will sound great. Glad he thinks so. I did want to go with 3 subs, 2 12's and 1 10, but space just doesn't allow it for me. I may be able to do something later down the road, but this is probably gonna be it, with the exception that I will add another pair of Boston Z6 speakers up front for imaging. They will be mounted on the kick panels at the floor.

OK, I will break down and become an elite tomorrow. I hope to go and get some more pictures tomorrow and I will start a new thread and posts the pics there. Maybe start it as "2 Challenges 3 and 7" LOL, how does that sound? I would probably get in trouble by a moderator or something though. But if I join and become an Elite, maybe they will cut me some slack. I was going to wait until I had a good picture of my X to put in for my logo by my name, but oh well. We will see.

Yesterday in the chat I was talking to someone about getting some Boston Acoustics component speakers for my stock holes. Are they any good? I havent really researched stereo stuff in a while because I have an alpine stereo but It is time to upgrade and get some new speakers an amp and 2 subs. Should I go with the Boston Acoustics.

Could I mount the subs in the back where the jack is and where the little compartment is behind the wheel wells?
