Hey guys, long time no post, I'm in Canada for school.

I looked all over but can't find an area for security systems or anything.

I'm installing a security system with automatic roll up windows. The security system is completely installed, works great, but for some reson I can't get the windows to work right. When I lock it with the keyfob it's supposed to automatically roll up the windows. Also I am supposed to be able to roll down the windows and roll them up from my keyfob. (channel 2 and 3) I can't get that to work either. The windows still work fine normally (had to splice into them). Only time they auto roll up is when I turn the key from on (ignition) to off and pull the key out. I checked all the wires, up is hooked to up, down to down, switch side to switch side, ground when armed, etc. I also can't figure out how my ground when armed (which is also connected to a relay a bit farther down for a starter kill) pulses ground once when armed and than goes back. But yet the starter kill works. I don't understand that one. I'm a bit confused and was wondering if anyone had any similiar problems when installing one. I'll find out tomorrow for sure. Jsut want tos ee if I can find it without the teacher having to look at it.

Thanks,

Craig

P.S. didn't mean to write such a long post. lol.

i think you need a one touch module to control each window... do you have that? There are two types of modules. Ones that control one direction, either up OR down, and ones that will do both directions. This module has to be conected to a 12v source, the window motor, and the corisponding output on your alarm. Hope that helps. WHere in Canada are you going to school?

Not sure why you put this in the lowered suspension forum:confused:

But, I will move it into the audio and navigation section for you--it fits best there.

Mobile Dynamics in Richmond Hill Ontario. I go to downtown Toronto all the time. Yonge and something, there's a Hoops there and down the road is that water fountain out fo the ground thinger, Dundas I believe?

Anyways, lol. I have the one that goes up and down, it made the buttons a one click. Where before only my driver window went down with one click, this one did the passenger side too, or I can make it go down by inches or I can vent the windows, etc. Tomorrow I'm going to re-trace everything (again for the 3rd time, lol) and see what's up. Have you ever done one? and if so was yours a Type A window system?

like I said inthe thread name, i couldnt find any palce to put it, and I've really only talked to people in here, posted it here so not to get flamed by people I dont know thinking I posted it there thinking it was the right forum.

I think that doesn't make sense, but whatever, lol.

i would bring it in to a place that does that kinda work just to make sure its dont right.

what make/model module you using?

CA100 by code alarm, and I forgot the model of the window module. The CA100 was free from school and I added the window module for like 30-40 bucks. I'll find out sometime when I'm in class tomorrow what I did wrong, I'll just have to have the teacher come over and check it. It has something to do with the grounded when armed not staying grounded. Jsut don't get why it does that...

Damn it, I forgot to diode-isolate the 'ground when armed wire'. Completely slipped my mind! I was getting back feed from the starter relay and the window module in the wire which was neutralizing the signal. Such easy things... lol

If you don't know or are not sure, ask a moderator. That's what we are here for.
