I got a great deal on this and couldnt pass it up. I'll be hooking it up with the included FM modulator. Anyone have any experience with XM and their modulators? And any comments would be appreciated as I will be installing this myself.

Maybe if I get some money for a nice HU, one day I can plug it right into the HU:D

I hooked mine to the HU Line Input jacks and it sounds great.

You will love XM........

Al... can I do that with my stock HU? Do you have the same unit?

No, the stock unit does not have Line In jacks, sorry.

I have a JVC unit.

Ah crap, oh well..... The modulator from what I hear and have read works really well....

Do you have the same unit? (Commander) How hard was the install? Any things I should be aware of?

Thanks, -MATT-

No, I have the SkiFi unit. The install was easy.

Good luck... post a pic when you have it in.

Cool, thanks, Ill post pics when I get it completed... Where should I mount mine? I know its fairly skinny and smaller than the skifi unit. I was thinking near that sunroof button on the roon on the overhead colole... I cant come up with any good ideas... maybe in the storage pocket below the the radio? Oh it needs to be somewhere where I can hide the wires... I HAVE to have everything look clean.. just cuz im ****;)

Very nice..

? What is a patch cord?

Also, do you think it will sound alright with the FM mod.?

A patch cord is the connector with RCA plugs on the ends.

It should sound fine, many hook up to stock HUs that way.

Is that something Ill need for this install?

I don't think so; however, I have never done an FM Modulator install.

Your directions should give you all the info you need.

Yeah, thanks man, its in the mail and should be here by friday... Do you by chance have AIM just incase I have any "immediate" questions along the way?

I have Skyfi at home and an XM unit enroute for my truck.

XM is absolutely awesome. :D You'll love it.
