So im out cleanin the IAC in my X today, and look down and theres the trusty throttle cable. So being the inquisitive person I am, I decide to give it a tug to make sure all is well. To my surprise, there was about an inch of play!!!
. So I look around and whats the closest thing u ask?, why some paper towels. So I rip of a piece fold/roll it up good and tight and stick it between the throttle cable and where it attaches to the throttle body. After buttoning everything back up I took it for a test drive and WOW!
Huge improvement I can really feel the extra horses.
Im thinkin on WOT it was maybe only opening about 75%... maybe less. Now its like my X has been reborn!!!
Now was this the best way to solve this little dillema? eeh probably not, but hey it works for now, and down the road i'll be creating a more permanent solution.
Just thought I'd share this with everyone....If this thread serves no other purpose GO CHECK YOUR THROTTLE CABLE...ONLY YOU CAN PREVENT UNNECESSARY LOSS OF HORSE POWER!
