So i went to put my new shackles on today and and the bolt through the frame would not come out. I hit it with a center punch and even an air hammer with no results. So if any on has any advice i would greatly appreciate it.

did you spray it with penetrating lube?

I have sprayed it with pb blaster every day for the last 2 weeks.

this may not be the approved method-- but I cut my bolts with a saws all then burnt the rubber bushing out of the spring-- new bolt, new bushings and all was right with the world again.

of if you have access to one, (yet another not very good/approved/recommended method) heat up the frame and or bolt and try it that way.

or try and drill the bolt out after you cut it flush with the frame or springs

Again, the not approved/encouraged method that I used was a torch. Made everything go away... new bushings and bolts and we're good to go...

heat it up.

I had the same problem with my 99 sport. I used a regular propane torch. If i recall correctly i cut one of them because it was rusted so bad to the factory shackle. The Warrior shackles come with bolts.

I'm jumping on the not approved band wagon, grab a real torch, not propane, Get in, get out and get on with your day. It'll be out in less than a minute, new bolt and bushings and your driving again.

how is that not approved?

Almost every shop that i know of that has trouble getting a bolt off a rusty frame will heat it up rather than cut it. Saves lots of time and trouble. Oxy-acetylene torches are a little harder to get for the average joe and expensive. Propane or MAPP gas torch is all you need to get the bolt cherry red and break the rust off.

Well you asked for pics so ill give you some
Front fender clearance

Rear quarter clearance

Now mind you this is with just the front lifted. In about 45 minutes im heading to my buddy's shop with a lift and oxy ecetelne torches. We will get her done.

All of my shackle bolts came loose with a 2' breaker bar combined with all my body weight. Perhaps if you can get your hands on a couple large breaker bars I would try that.

lol when i put my new shackles on, I had to stand/bounce on my breaker bar to get my last bolt loose. Not recommended. at all.

I just got back from the shop and we got her done. We cut the head off the back side of the bolt in the frame, and then we put a hydrolic ram between the frame rails and pushed it out. I only took like 15000 pounds of presser to get the bolt out.

It scared me to. the bolt had developed a big ass lip on the shank.

hydraulic ram between the frame rails? As in pressing against frame on one side and bolt on the other?

What i did was cut the head off the back of the bolt, then with a center punch i moved it as far as i could from the back. At this point i had about a 1/4 inch to stick a piece of pipe in the hole. Now i put a ram between the frame rails and it was pushing on one side of the frame and the piece of pipe. With lots of pressure the bolt popped out.

Some new pics with the back done

The bolts just have red coating to indicate that they are metric. The shackles are your autozone special with a extra bolt that has a sleeve of dom tube over it.
