i need some advice about the A4LD transmission....

since I am not a mechanic- and I know even less about transmissions, im going to be having a real transmission guy doing the job and im going to help him. that way I can learn something new- something I need to know. im sure he will do the job right since he wants to get paid

Yeah it's not a tough job, but if you don't have the tools or a place to work, then it's kind of tough to do a job like that.

I have been a mechanic for 10 years, working on cars, trucks, and primarily industrial mobile equipment. Forklifts mostly, some twice as big as semi trucks and I have a decent garage at home to work in. These things are the only reason I could have the collection I have.

I wish I had a garage..... but this project will have to take place out in the dirt driveway.... but at least its a shady dirt driveway. all I got is a box of standard hand tools and 4 jackstands. hopefully the transmission guy will have everything else, if anything special is required, should he accept the job. otherwise, this project will have to go on the backburner

Most bolts on these are metric. Be careful if your standard sockets are 12 point. You may wind up rounding off the bolt heads.

You will need some long extensions
