Hey everyone, as this is my first post I'd just like to say how useful and awesome this forum is! I've been able to solve every question I'd had about my truck thanks to this place. That said, I need some advice.
I have a 2000 Explorer Sport, OHV. It's been running fine for the 9 months I've owned it until two weeks ago, I got my first CEL. The infamous (it seems) P0171 & P0174. I searched the forums and decided it was likely the MAF sensor, so I replaced it and the truck was fine. Now, I'm getting the same codes again, and there is a debate between me and my friend, who happens to be a mechanic.
He says that it's the O2 Sensors(both) or its the Catalytic Converter. I think it's the Intake Manifold. Now, being a college student, I don't have the money to replace ALL of that, so I'd like to narrow the list down.
The confusing part is that the truck runs 100% fine. No rough idle, no hesitation, no weird sounds. The only thing I can think of is that I can often smell coolant from the engine after I've been driving for awhile.
Any ideas as to what is the problem??
