:) Which one?
Which wires do I jump across on the connector to make the starter run? I just need to run the thing into my shop on the starter so I can change the fuel pump and I have no help to push it. This is the 98 sport 2wd.

There's 2 switches built into one (probably) on the clutch pedal. 4 wires. One switch enables "start", the other "cruise control". I don't have color codes, unfortunately, but you can do it thus:

Call the wires A, B, C, & D. There's only 6 possible combinations, AB, AC, AD, BC, BD, CD. Try each pair until the key will turn the starter.

Hi IMP, thanks. I found a wiring diagram but the colors are wrong. I just don't want to jump a hot to a ground and whack something.

Job is done. I didn't jump the switch. Just for others future reference; You can reach down and grab the switch and slide it up the rod that it is on. This will let it turn the starter with the clutch out. A little awkward but it works.

On mine, I pulled the switch off the rod, compressed the spring inside the switch, and looped a ziptie through it to hold it.

Good to know! Glad it worked out. BTW, electrically, jumpering any two of those 4 wires won't zap anything, but I respect your hesitance. Good thinking! imp
