...of all the places to find what appears to be a good, aggressive A/T tire. Have any of you seen the Goodyear Wrangler Authority AT tire? Know anything about it? Just wondering if it is worth the money, I cant find anything about it on Goodyear’s web site.

I have heard that Goodyear has some kind of arrangement for exclusives at Wal-Mart, so it may be one of those that only they sell. I have had two cars with various Wranglers on them and replaced them long before they wore out because the wet traction was so bad.

Those may be better but I wouldn't risk it without some good reviews.

I have always heard mixed reviews on Wranglers, I have never had any, my 91 currently has Michelin XC-LT4 whick work well for 90% of where I go anymore. It is about time for new tires and a maybe some upgrades for the old thing, not totally sure yet which direction I am going to go with it, but I think a mild lift is going to happen.

I saw them too. They do look really nice, though the price I saw was less than impressive. Wal-mart was still lookin at $165 a tire for my size, 265-75-16.

I have wranglers (dont remember what kind) on my 92, and I can swing the ass end out on a turn half throttle when the roads are a tad bit wet.

I will never in my life put that brand on anything I ever drive, not even a scooter.
I didnt put them on the 92, they were on there right when I got it the guy had JUST had them put on brand new.

And also, worst traction on snow/ice I have ever seen, I think a 4 banger 91 escort would handle better.

And as for Wal-Mart.....your taking a hell of a risk if you trust them with your automobile.

Wal-Mart is the last place I would buy tires from. I got in a pinch and needed two tires for a '92 cougar I had. The next day when I was driving on the interstate I noticed a hell of a shake over 55mph. I got to looking and the idiot had not removed the old weights.

There are plenty of members here who have had horrible experiences with Wal-Mart and there tire/lube center.

And one other thing. Goodyear tires suck. I wouldn't run them if someone gave then to me.

I've had the wranglers on several fleet vehicles and HATED them. I got flats all the time, the Wrangler A/Ts would get our 4x4's stuck in 3 inches of snow, and they didn't have enuff grip to get up a slight incline that has packed snow. Then the department manager got us 33's of the silent armor a/t. We still got stuck all the time, they just didn't have to plug the tires once a week, but they wore like crazy.

I have owned 3 different types of GY tires (Eagle ST,Wrangler RT-S, and Integrity) on 3 different vehicles and they all sucked. :thumbdwn:

I also noticed them at the super walmart near my house. They look really good but for that price I could get BF G all terrains which in my opinion is the best tire made. I have alot of friends who have run those tires and loved them for their durability and that they last longer than anything out there.

Well I guess I have a good reason NOT to buy Goodyears anywhere, I kind of remember the only set I ever had, they came stock on an 84 firebird, I dont remember them being terrible, but there was nothing impressive about them either.
