i want to paint my wiper blade arms

For the rear I used 2 flat screw driver; one to pry out the little tab inside and the other to pry the wiper away from the base.

Here's a shot of my painted wipers I did a couple of weeks ago: :p

Heh X, looks like you chromed em. Oh yah, you asked bout my name - well shuttuppayouface was too long.

Back on these wiper arms:
I was wondering if anybody greased the motor shaft before putting the wiper arms back on. On mine, there's some buildup of gunk and I assume its old grease or graphite.

What would you suggest - grease, oil, graphite or what or maybe nothing? I was thinking grease its thick and will stay in place.

shuttuppayouface is kinda long. :)

I didn't find any grease on mine at all. They were quite clean. Greasing it would surely be a good idea for ease of taking them on and off.

I would use a thick grease that did well in cold temps(well I guess that depends on where you live) or a never-sieze compound.

Finished painting my wipers:
I feather sanded the high spots (its all in the prep but I lack patience LOL) then primer, then black rustoleum. It looked good until I put it next to the wiper blade it was too dull (see the off color spot***). So I came up with the idea to clear coat it (plastikote p/n629).

Heres a pic showing (from left to right) the wiper blade, the wiper arm (off color spot*** was not clear coated forgot to) and finally the inside of arm shows the original paint (very center area) with slight bit of overspray.

One more of the area I forgot to paint with clear.

I wasnt expecting the slight texture. Its exaggerated in the pic and looks much smoother for real. It looks good but on hindsight I should have spent more time feathering the chipped/peeled areas.

i painted them to match the body on my 97 and on my 94 i painted them black and i think them painted to match the body look's much better!!

I did it on my '97 and I didn't like it so much. I painted it back to black. Its much better.
