i want to put a few mods for now in to my explorer

Make sure next time your O.D. Is off, the TQ and H.p numbers always cross at 5250, that do's not mean thats where you made peak TQ and H.P.
Your RWHP #s are great, far above OEM for that engine 211/274 crank.

truck would of still shifted at 4.5K if OD was off too (tested it)

maybe next time you could go with me Spindle and see.

what gear is it supposed to be in for the test?

In your case 4th gear, you want to be at 1:1 ratio, is wierd it will shift into 5th with the O.D off, it should not do that.
May have something to do with Limiters that force it shift, dunno

i knew it was a 5 speed automatic! Doug (or maybe someone responding in his name) said there were only 4 gears
(i even counted 4 shifts)... maybe the numbers i gave him show 4 gears, i dont know im lost now

the truck turns the OD on after 4500 in 4th... but keeps going

2 of the runs he left off when it shifted, the other he let off before the shift, so the 2 that dropped off actually shifted (shows my HP in 5th)

i did find out that its a pre 97 (made in august 96)

better picture (in color) of the dyno

*EDIT* my truck on the dyno too.

p.s. i lost the vid, i accidentally turned the power off instead of stopping the recording so that might of lost it or i might of pressed the record button a second time before the dyno even started thust stopping it :(

ARGH! my tranmission code is "U" so that means its a 4 speed automatic overdrive!

now after i get the chip back, if it doesnt fix my problem ill need to find out what is, hopefully its not the transmission (it shouldnt be)

Don't see how that is possible with a 5 liter 97, could be wrong but all the info I have says the 4R55E was only offered with the OHV6.
You said it shifted in 4th to OD, confusing

im even more confused than you. well today ill take it to work and floor it till i top out and see how many times it shifts, if it shifts 4 times, its a 5, 3 times (which i doubt) its a 4. but why would the tranny code show a U? or does it mean 4 speed auto with 5th gear overdrive? (ive seen a couple of cars labeled like that 5 speed with 6th gear overdrive and what not)

and it is a pre 97 so it has actual 96 parts on it, even when ordering my headers robert asked it it was the GT40 or GT40P heads... and since its a pre 97 he said its mostlikely GT40 heads.

who knows maybe 96 V8's came with 4R55E transmissions

Hey Rich

I saw you yesterday by the overpass under the bridge near Popeye's and the Volvo delearship on Capitol. I was in my explorer I had all my windows open even the rear truck gate was open too. I saw some lady in the passenger seat I dunno if it was your mom or someone. But I just wanted to know if you saw me too.

4R70W, 4 speed auto, has an overdrive lockout? dunno man

im getting confused, but sorta getting it... its stressing me out. i cant sleep because i got too much on my mind, i should of done all this yesterday when i didnt have work, now im going to be dead tired at work (time to get those kidney killing energy drinks, cant be worse than drinking beer though)

somethings up, ill figure it out today

finally! headers are done and installed!

funny thing, i called Robert because my truck has no EGR and he was cool about it, he said if i ever decide to swap the header out for a non EGR header i could, but it took so long ill wait till later on down the road

install time, 5-6 hours because i had some trouble with one bolt on the exhaust flange.

then took me another hour or so to go get a plug for the EGR valve.

it sounds mellower at idle.

waiting for Doug to send back the programer so i could get a dyno. i want to check it out bad

rich how does the x sound now we need to meet up again I wannna hear how the x sounds now. And no if we do meet up again we should have spindlecone join us since last time none of us had his number or e-mail.

souds beefier when i get on it. im debating dyno pulls on thursday, i want to get the programer back before i take another pull to see what i get with curren settings and with new header settings, ill have to contact Doug to see when ill get it back

*edit*
still need to get me some plug wire protectors, ill see how much they are tomorrow

I just like to say thanks to Doug, my speed limiter is now off... I did another 2 pulls on the dyno today, as far as Torque Monster header claims... I gained approx 16hp and 2tq (that was before reprograming my chip with the limiter off) as for with the limiter on... the hp dropped quite a bit, as for the torque I dont know because the guy didnt print them out, but it is on record on their computer.

On my third pull I just told him to see what it would top out at... and he said he reached 120+ then backed off.

Next time I go dyno my truck it will be with 100 octane with a 100 octane programming (hoping Doug calculated the programing right, but I'm hardly in doubt because he's done such a great job thus far).
The truck should be fine if the tunning is correct right? Would I have to worry about anything going wrong?

Hola Homie
What were your final numbers with the flasher? did they measure your A/F ratio? If you had the Dyno done at DSR they can email you all the numbers and perhaps the charts.
Don't waste your time with 100 octane, the price of racing gas is not worth the effort, I made my own 95 octane and it got me zip over 91.
And remember, speed kills

The guy forgot to connect the A/F things...but its no biggie. I was too scared to even go over 80 last night. The main reason was because I was very tired (on my 26th hour) and I noticed that I couldnt maintain a streight drive. I still took it to 110 then backed off as I approached oncoming cars... I really wanted to see how fast I could get it, but it will have to wait for a day with less traffic. But had there been some car racing, I would of easily jumped on it, but it was bairly nearing 10 so racers werent out yet.

Wonder if I could keep up with a 300C and 04 Altama now (speed limiter was the only thing stoping me before)

alright i want to get a supercharger. i was thinking the XB-1A (think thats the model) but after looking at powerdynes site it looks to be an upgrade for a bd-10 or bd-11, am i right? i mean its a rediculous amount of boost for a stock (thus far) motor.

and whats the difference between 6 rib and 8 rib?

should i just settle for the BD-10 or BD-11 till later on?

would i have to make custom mounts?

and which should i get, the BD-11?

The BD-11 is the updated version of the Bd-10/b600. It's the intermediate model. The XB-1A is the top of the line that can go up to 18 lbs of boost. The BD-11 tops out SAFELY around 11 PSI. The cool thing about the XB-1A if you decide to upgrade, is it fits the same brackets so you just gotta unbolt and bolt. Then add the oil line to the s/c from the oil pan. The 6 rib will be fine for you, but if you get the XB then go with the 8 rib. The more boost you get, the more the chance of slipping. And the more surface on the pulleys, the less the chance of slippage.

But is the XB-1A the face of the SC or is it a whole unit on its own?
http://www.proficientperformance.co...Category_Code=pd_headunits_xb1a&Store_Code=PP i was looking at this link and it just shows the cover part of it, so i was a little confused thinking that it wasnt all one unit

I was thinking of getting the XB because it will be able to boost a lot higher but also be able to boost low (something that i could use for my X while its not being used to race)
