iac valve

I'm replacing my idle air control valve. Does any one know the difference between one that works on all models and one that is specific to the explorer. The difference in price is about $50. Thanks!

...I wouldn't trust something that isn't Model specific...Where are you getting these IAC's from???

I pulled one out of my cabinet for a fox body and threw it on my 95 EB...just because I had it and the one on the car was dead. I figured I would use it until I got the correct one. Well, the "correct" one for my 95 is well over $100. Just my luck, I have the expensive option. So I've left it on there for months now. It does just fine.

But I will say this...it is a quality Motorcraft IAC...not some cheap universal knock off.

Thanks for the help guys. It's my wifes explorer so i'm going to bite the bullet and go motorcraft whatever the cost. I've done a voltage and resistance test on it so I know it's bad. Thanks again!
