... where is the idle control sensor on the 91? Idle on my EB is all over the place... sometimes it's hard to start without giving it some gas... fuel injected doesn't need that...

A good possibility is that the IAC is shot. It's mounted to the side of the intake by the throttle plate. It controls the amount of air the motor sees on startup and at idle. After a while they get carboned up and cease to function properly.

I'll replace it then and see if it helps. I do have a spare one on the extra engine I've got... thanks.

Here is a picture of it:

It took me a long time but I finally replaced it with a spare one I had. Did not help. Now I get idle that goes up as the engine warms-up... went up to 2500 rpm... not that good. I see that the entire intake and probably MAS is pretty dirty... got to take that aparta dn clean it. Will report on the issue.

Was your gasket good? If it's borderline, you will get air leaking under it, and into your intake. This will bypass the solenoid, and not let it control properly. I like to coat the gasket with a little anti seize compound.

I didn't really look into the gasket thing... just made sure it's there and that's all. Like I said, I'll have to take it all apart and clean it. Looks like it was never really cleaned. I hope to get it all to run fairly decent... at least untill I put a new engine together... which might take me a while. ;)
