I bought a coil from RockAuto for my 1994 that was Standard Motor Products and it still works. About 5 years now. I have had good luck with that brand on my explorers. However, I buy motorcraft when I'm flush.

I agree with you on the Motorcraft and would have spent the extra money if I didn't have 200,000 miles on it.

I ended up ordering 4 of the Karlyn coils, 2 for the Explorer, and 2 for the Expedition. They made in improvement in both vehicles so far. Faster starts, more power, less pinging, and a smoother idle. I just hope they last awhile.

You should be fine, as long as they werent the Tru-tech line that standard makes.... They are garbage.

Edit: just looked at the part #... It ends in "T". That means its Tru-tech. Hopefully you have better luck with it then we do at work.

I'm lucky, I ended up getting the Karlyn coils!!!

One thing I didn't like is the coils did not come with the rubber seals inside the wiring harness connection, but I pulled the old seals out of the old coils and reused them.

I had 2 dist caps and 4 rotors that didnt last a week total (all on different engines)... all tru-tech.

I'll never use them again.

I bought a motocraft coil pack (4 post) for a modular V8 and it said Made in China on the box.

Karlyn looks like a decent company judging by the information on their website.
