So, why is the damn thing called a "bellhousing"?
It's bowl-shaped, not bell-shaped at all, the stuff it encloses, either clutch or torque converter, does not resemble a "bell" at all, So where did the universal name come from?
Yeah, I've called it bellhousing since, well, almost 60 years now! imp
