Indiglo Glow Gauges

Hey I am new to the forum but have spent several days looking for a install guide for the reverse gauge install. I have the gauges and ready to install I ran into a block in I saw three screws at the tach and now holes to match in the new gauges thanks for any help. If any one has a step by step install for the 1st gen explorer will be greatly appreciated.

lots of people have had this problem many have said they were going to drill it out but ive never heard back from them.here is a thread quick thread about putting some in but probably different from the one you have but may help.

Thanks yeah I have read all up and down these forums looking for the answer and run into the same dead end everytime. I see tons of people with them in but no one answers the question when i ask. I might just have to bite the bullet and just do it myself and document it my self and do a write up on it. Ill what till next weekend when I do it with all the other plans I have for it

well i know in mine they have a big warning label saying not to drill or cut into them so good luck might want to IM Jlaudio_explorer and see if he drilled his out yet and if they worked

I see, so the gauges are all matched up, but need 2 holes to hold the tach gauge? Let us know.

Yes, you can just make a hole on the gauge and it will not damage it.

sorry for no update last weekend I fractured two of my right hand fingers so it is going to be sometime but when I do ill take pictures as well as update

I was going to drill mine out yesterday but I couldn't find the right size drill bit. I'm just going to go buy one soon and see what happens. Did yours have a hole for a needle perch too? mine did and the factory gauges only had a perch on the speedometer not on the tachometer. I might go buy a cluster from a junk yard and use the perch off that.

Ok I got it done today. Yes you can cut poke or drill them. I chose to mark the holes by pushing a pen through the old gauge holes from the back (I had the new gauge already glued on so this part was easy for me) to put a little dot where I needed to make the holes on the new gauge. then I poked the holes with a decking screw from the front.
