You can get almost 2" with $12 AutoZone universal lift shackles.

AAL 2-3" for $35

if i used 85-86 f150 rear leafs? it'd gimme how much lift in the rear? and it would all bolt up alright? and clear eberything fine?

and the 12in universale shackle..is that those 2 part shackels..like two metal bars with selectable distances to bolt up? if so i checked those out..i am willing to spend more for something a lil more sturdy and dependible then those thhings..

you can get warrior shackles 1.5 2" lift, part number WAR153 I think.

the warriors are 55+ shipping......the F-150 leaves can give you 3 inches.

how about pulling rear axle out and mounting it on bottom of leaf springs

the most unsafe way... hockey pucks..

mounting the top of the axle under the springs (SOA) will give about 5.5" of lift, which is a little more than he was looking for. It is cheap however, about 20 bucks (if you dont break anything)

yeah the 20 bux i guess bein the perches or wutever..yeah i've thought about that..but SOA is too much lift for me..i heard AAL was a ***** to do..so i wasnt sure about doing that..i hav looked into the warrior shackels, and im probably gunna get those and mix with with a procomp AAL..any word on AALs?..o and hockey puck guy...that wouldnt really work on these expos..cept maybe body lift if you drilled through em or sumthing..the leafs are under axle, any space between the leaf and axle, would creat a "drop" ...just so u kno..but thanks for the input..belive me..i woulda loved to do hockey puckes, i was looking into blocks till i looked under the expo and realized it was spring under lol..and yeah they are dangerous specicially with leafs, thing will pop right out..thanks guys..anything else?

i wanna do the SOA on mine, but where would i get the new perches from?

you can buy perches on ebay....or make your own. with a SOA its all custom.

your leaf springs in back are strapped under the axel, take em off and stack em on top of the axel and you got about 4"...but keep in mind that over time your axel most likely will start to sag when its sitting on that fulcrum...

you will get 5.5" on the nose, not 4". Also, the axle will never sag, if it does you have bigger worries than an SOA.

i stand corrected, 5.5"...sorry i meant the leaf will sag not axel

AAL kit rear and longer springs in the front (JC Whitney)

get an add a leaf kit, that will stiffen up your rear and improve your handling as she won't sway as badly in turns. I did this to my old work minivan for added cargo capacity. I gained 4" lift, 1200lbs carrying capacity, and rode much better ('cept it looked kinda dumb lifted only in the back :p )

yeah i dont wunna risk all the problems with SOA..and i kno its a mess to work with and welding the perches and stuff..i ordered a warrior shackle kit and a procomp AAL..and they've come in..now i jus gotta get a good time to throw em on..any tips?
o and i kno im planning to sand and wire brush the leaf pack and prolly anything else i can reach while im under ther..and im paintin em with prolly som POR 115..i think is wut its called..if not some flat black rustoleum..also im gunne replace and hardware i can with some stainless..o and i am gunna swap the springs from the drivers side with the passenger side kuzza the slight sag on the drivers side with the gas tank that ive been advised about..also ill inflate the spare to 40psi..kuz ive been told itll deflate and thats a good pound to put in ther.. um and i also hav some polyurethane spacers for the front coils..i dont think the front has sagged much, so it should be realistically prolly between 1 and 1 1/2 from stock height..but i do thanks for all yalls help..and feel free to keep this thread goin with any questions or anything..i kno ill be chekin it sitll and tellin ya how i been duin with my left..thanks again

(jus for reference..i was lookin for an inexpensive lift for my expo..to get it above stock ride hieght..get some bigger tires on ther..and get a more agressive stance and mor capability..i picked up some warrior shackles bou 1 1/2 in lift..and some procomp add a leafs..about the same amount of lift..add that to the probable sag..and i expect to get about 2 in in the rear..and i got some polyurethance coil spacers off ebay..with the 4wd expo like mine..i been told i wont need stud extenders..but some peopel do..) that'll gimme about an inch or so with the sag..and i plan to cut the fender well a lil upfront to compensate..if your lookin for something like wut i was..perfect match)..

Im going to try mixing leaf packs from the leafs on the parts explorer, till i get some new ones for the back. I still have to get them off the old truck and its pretty much ready for it. Im going to leave the springs on the truck and use its weight to compress the leafs im going to put in :D.
