I ordered a 9006 6500k HID kit from www.cqlight.ca
(you'd think it's Canada but it's California :)

The kit was not expensive, $160. I think it's some generic brand, displayed as "Enlure".
But shipping was expensive - 2 day fedex international for $98
but I needed it fast because I'm going on a trip.
They currently offer free shipping within US

Service, packaging, shipping was top notch. Product build quality is also great - it's only been an hour in the car so no real experience.
The seller was very friendly and helpful. There is also a phone number I could call, he took care of the extra urgent international shipping right away. The package went out within an hour after I hung up the phone

Installation was almost plug&play, biggest problem was to find a place for the ballasts. See my photos on how I solved it:

(Those metal bars and all screws were included in the box.)

I still don't understand why but my headlight plugs had REVERSE POLARITY :-/ When I measured before installation I realized this and just had to swap the two wires in the supplied cable ("standard vehicle harness"). Pretty easy.
I imagine it was my car only.

The finished product:
I must admit they are a bit too blue for my taste. If I had to order again, I'd go with 4300k's.

Re the famous buzzing noise: only for the first 5 seconds when you turn it on! After that it's completely silent.

oh one more thing: if you are having problem popping the headlight out (that metal bar): take a screwdriver and from the FRONT try to stick it between the car body and the stuck bar and pry it. Mine was like glued to it but once I did this there was a smooth crack and ta-da it moved like butter!

Greg

ps. yes, I also managed to fix my parking lights (corners). (I complained in another thread about them...)

nice man, look good, i think that anything above the stock color of 4300K looks too ricey

looks good... and yea those are some pretty thin ballasts...

Since those aren't projectors, what is the spread like? Do you have shots aiming against a wall?

I've had my HID's (lows and fogs) for a while now and love them. My last car (Passat W8) had them and I can't stand driving cars without HID's.

Mine are somewhere around 6000k (I dont remember), but are a lot whiter than yours. They are blue for the first 60 seconds or so until they warm up.

...and yeah, the X's need the connectors reversed.. I thought it was just mine too when I first hooked it up, but thats how they're wired.

If you have inline fuses in yours, make sure you carry a spare fuse or two with you. Mine have 7.5A, every couple months a fuse will blow when the lights are turned on, or switched from on-off-on fast.

I have a photo but it's still in the camera which is still in the car. But the beam looks exactly like before except it's a different hue and much brighter.

what do you mean when you say they need the connectors reversed? like positive to ground? i thought most hid kits just plug into the harness in your car? how can you reverse those?

yes they plug into the existing lamp plug. but on ford's lamp plug the wires are reversed. Swapping is really easy: You leave the Ford side untouched. Instead, you take the plug that comes with the HID kit and pull out the two pins (it was doable on mine) and swap them. No hacking needed, it's very straight forward.
