its the exact same engine with different drive accessories and some different sensors.. so as a long block yes... if you wanted to do a full swap.. its more troulbe than its worth.. for that much trouble do yourself a favor and do a 5.4l swap.

they told me it will fit but they have to use the accessories of my 2004 i.e. air intake, cooling fan, water pump in summury we will use only the block
and 5.4l for which car & model also will it fit with the 2004 tranny

They are planning to use it as a long block. Did yours fail on you? The 2010 as a long block with your drive accessories is a pretty easy swap. Plug and play. :-) go that route if your looking for a repair

The 5.4 is a bad idea. Spark plugs are horrifically expensive and depending on which model 5.4 you get it will either eject the plugs out of the block while driving, or they will break off in side of the block when you try and remove them. If you want the trouble of a V8 go with the 4.6 the Explorer came with one just need a different transmission, new computer, new wiring harness, and other odds and ends.

<-- is buying a low milage lightning engine and putting trick flow heads + cams on her. Plus a fully ballenced forged rotating assembly. 4.6ls shoot plugs to btw.

True, but it is no where near as common as it is in the 5.4.

will thanks every one for help
the reason i asked this is my engine failed white smoke is coming out from exhaust seems one of cylinders head got cracked so my opinion is to replace engine since rebuild repair is same or even more costly so i always like virgin engine no hands touch it with low mileage.

yes I put in a 2010 ranger 4.0 engine in my 2003 explorer. blocks are the same so swap over parts.

This an amazing web forum. I was just thinking about maybe do a 2010 very low mileage swap to my 03 explorer. I had already figure on some the drive assessories may need to be changed. I have to do my injectors and rails since I have a flex engine.
