Installing Clear Corners???

Gary, yes I got the other ones dismissed. All I did was get a disposable camera, went into the garage, took a pic of the rear clears, then put the stock ones back on, took another pic then just put the clears and then in the front, I took a pic of the red lights on, swapped them out for just regular clear bulbs, took a pic with those on then just put the red ones back. Took it to Walgreens and had them develope the film, cause they and i'm sure most of them put the date you develope them on the back of the pictures. Dated Pictures are worth 1001 words ;) So when I went to court the cop that gave me the tickets pulled me outside and asked to see if I had anything to prove I changed them and I showed him the pics and he left a note for the judge to dismiss them. Hope that helps

Ok, I just put on my clears and from the front they look stock other than from the side. I would like to change the bulbs to make them look better, but my ? is which other bulbs are legal? I can't be getting any tickets! Thanks

Slick

Also, my regular headlights dont look good now because they have like a yellowish tint to them and they look pretty old and not real clean like my new corners. Is there anywhere i could order just the regular headlight part? or is there a way to make them look clear and new again??

Slick

Slick, Check out this page. They explain how they cleaned the Head lights on a Supra. I haven't tried this personaly, but its worth a shot, because buying any factory part will cost two legs and an arm  .

You can have clear or amber to the front only to be legal. I am open to others opinions but I have found that at Autodynamic.com they have the front parking light bulbs that are superwhite (#3157 for mine) and they offer Polarg corner light bulbs (#168 for my vehicle)
that are legal and give the best look for clear corners. I do run a really dark cool blue in mine but I do run a risk of getting a ticket.

Hope that helps!

Here in NM I researched it and asked some cops and it ended up being you won't get bothered for colors as long as they were RED or BLUE. That was all...so anything other then that should be fine I think...just call your local police department or ask a cop to make sure

Just because the cop(s) said you won't get bothered does not mean you cannot still get a ticket for having something besides clear or amber. The cops basically stated their own opinions that they personally would not ticket someone for a different colored bulb as long as it was not red or blue. But that does NOT mean that the law says you cannot be ticketed. Another cop may get a wild hair somewhere and decide to ticket you. State patrol are not as lenient as local boys are.

Do as you will but don't be surprised if out of nowhere you get an "equipment" violation.

Well my last ones they said they were equipment violations i'm just saying, why buy clears so they look stock? I mean I personally don't mind the chances I'm taking by having them, cause this is for my vehicle not the cops. Green, red, blue, they are just lights, i'm not a criminal because of lights, personally I think the law is idiotic and I do think they should try catching real criminals but I understand why they do what they do. If i'm bad for having my lights, good for them, I don't feel that at all in my mind nor do I feel bad about it. Depends what your willing to do I guess, all I can say is no one else here has green turns on a X...i like being different thats why I put them but if your so worried about getting tickets why even put them on?

I agree with you 100% newbz! If it were not for the fact that my particular situation allows me some leniency with the law I may not have purchased the clears. I love the look but it can become quite a hassle trying to get out of tickets and then you can only get out of so many before a judge or the cops decide they are tired of warning you and then start to slap on fines and so on and so on.

I too risk it with my dark blue bulbs but I do change them to stock looking when traveling.

i dont know about your laws but here in ct it is legal to have white turn signals in the front which really looks phat with my clear corners but i put in stock white bulbs that look kind of yellow while just on parking light mode while flashing they look really nice is there any way to avoid this to make them brighter so they woudl always be a bright as they are when the turn signals are on but just flash then and not be any brighter

put in a single element 3156

Hey Slick,

If your oem corners are in good shape would you think of selling them? My whole headlamp assemblies have clouded up and look horrible.

I can find the #168 on autodynamic.com but I don't see the #3157 on there is that where you got yours? I just got my clears and I would like 2 get them.

Click on the above link and it will take you the exact screen you need. Just scroll down until you see your bulb number you need. If it is a #3157 it will be about half way down and you will see several of them in different color choices such as red, blue, and the one you want which is 3157/3057 super white. The color of the bulb is blue but the light is white!!
