So does anyone know which light from the headlight switch I could use for the parking lights? And if it would be safe to use? I'd be using one "transformer" which goes to two lights.
So I guess .7 amps.. used in total for the lights..

Do you know if this wire would be safe to use?

Yes, the brown wire would be safe to use. Should'nt overload anything.
You can run the wires right under the dash to the passenger side.
Now all you gotta do is.......do it!

I'm still waiting for my package to get here.. lol Is there anyway to get ahold of this wire without taking the fusebox out or the dash? Anyway to access it under the driver's side dash?
I need a plan... lol

you dont have to but it makes it easier for accsess is taking off the panel under the steering wheel, you'll see the brown wire within a bunch going threw the firewall, theirs like 30ish wires going threw there. use a test light before you connect the wires

well the brown wire will turn on with running lights

I don't have running lights? This brown wire is to the parking lights, right? And just to make sure I don't mess anything up, this is the only brown wire.. right?

Alright, I'll post pics whenever I get this done. Btw, could adding a switch be as easy as putting it inline between the switch (headlight switch/brown wire) and the transformer box (light power inverter)? So if I want them off, I can.. (The point of having them rigged up to the parking lights is so there's no chance of leaving them on all night by accident, even if they don't draw enough power to drain the battery, I don't need lights screaming.. "hey, come checkout all the gear in this truck" )

Yes, putting in a switch is that easy - just make sure the switch is a 10Amp switch (most 12V switches are rated at least 10 A) and you wil be fine. Normally if the load is more than 10A, to use a 10A switch, you need to run a relay - but inyour case, only drawing 0.7A, or even 1.4A for 2 cathodes should be OK with an in-line switch with no relay.

fyi, other wires (so you have other options)

Parking lights (+) -- Purple/White -- Driver's Kick panel
(+) -- Brown -- Driver's Kick Panel
Also (+) -- white/black -- Rear of light switch

Headlights (+)-- Red/Yellow -- Rear of light switch

Could you explain a little more on that?

So all those colors are the same thing? (+ for parking lights?)

Perhaps could you show me where with pictures I would find these?

Anyone got any pictures to these wires?

I would say that these are different wires.

If you want to use the parking light circuit, connect to this one:
Parking lights (+) -- Purple/White -- Driver's Kick panel

If you want to have the lights on at any time (irrespective of parking or headlights), then use this one:
(+) -- Brown -- Driver's Kick Panel

Not sure about this one myself:
Also (+) -- white/black -- Rear of light switch

Use this one if you only want the lights on with full headlights:
Headlights (+)-- Red/Yellow -- Rear of light switch

I'm wanting to have em on the parking lights only, but how do I get to the one's in the "kick panel" ?

I need pictures.. =\

The kick panel is the panel to the left of your left foot when you are sitting in the driver's seat. It is the plastic Wall (if you will) between the floor and the dash. ie, open the door, and stick your head at floor level and look left - that is your kick panel. The bonnet/hood release is mounted on the kick panel.

I think I know what you're talking about, but my hood release is above my legs, under the steering column. The kick panel you're talking about is the same side plastic piece the fuel cutoff device is in on the passenger side if I'm correct?

So to get the kick panel off, I would have to remove the floor trim piece, what am I going to find behind there? (If anyone has any pictures, that would be nice. I really don't like sittin in the truck messing with stuff I might not even use for whatever I'm doing.. It's too cold for that. The less time I'm out there getting it all put together, the better.)

There's no wires I can access easier that belong to the parking lights?

they brown wire with the other like 20 wires will be by the top left of corner of this picture
img5095kv5.jpg

the first 2 bolts are here, then it just pops off
cartb1.jpg

then their will be like 6 others holding on a piece of metal.

well you dont have to take the kick panel off but it gives you room to access it. i'll see if i can take a picture of it tonight
